It’s National Boss’ Day, y’all and I think we should chat about it. The reality is I’m my own boss (and my own secretary and my own errand runner, and on and on) And since I love any reason to celebrate, today I give it up to you, my clients, each of whom becomes my ‘boss’ in a way, my reason for being, my inspiration, and the ones who challenge me to be better at what I do. Happy Boss’ Day to you! You’re the absolute bestest to work for!
Tell me what your picture-perfect fall weekend looks like! Saturday is upon us and once autumn hits, I especially can’t wait for the weekends. Every year I look forward to Saturday’s spent anywhere in the great Outdoors. We are lucky to have long falls around here!
There’s really nothing easy about being an entrepreneur. There are times when I think I must have been insane to ever have chosen this life. In those moments I remind myself of the nicest thing anyone ever said about my business: Your family portraits are the one thing my kids and I all agree on, we look forward to them every Fall, and spend the rest of our year trying to behave as beautifully as you made us look. It means so much to receive this kind of feedback and it’s always the thing that keeps me pressing on. If I had to distill the essence of my business down to it’s truest purpose, I’d say it’s to help bring beauty into my client’s lives by capturing what makes them unique. 🍁 I’m always inspired and motivated by all things having to do with slow living. We live in a society that is too fast paced and it’s hard to keep up without feeling a little crazy. 🍁 My sessions are usually done out in nature or in a studio where I work with the natural light as much as possible. I want you to feel confident and comfortable in your skin and I want you to have a fun and relaxing time!
What will you be drinking this fall? Finally the weather has begun to cool a bit, which means my summertime staple ice coffee is now a little too cold for my morning drive to work. But to every drink there is a season so I’m happily swapping out my iced coffee for steaming cinnamon apple cider.What can I We buy gallons from our local farmers market, heat it on the stove and drink it all season long!
I have dreamed since I was a little girl of having my own business. I remember making things and selling them in my pretend shop that I assembled in my childhood bedroom. I spent so much time creating tags and bags to put the items in and made my sister and friends buy things from me 😂 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I always knew that one day I would be my own boss. While it’s not a shop that I own, it’s a photography business , I’m happy to say that I’ve done it, but not without tireless support of my family and hubby. Who are the only forces who pushed me through when I was discouraged enough to quit. I am forever grateful.
